We offer a range of shipping options focused on ensuring your fine wine is delivered in perfect condition. These options change throughout the year based on seasonal weather patterns.
BETWEEN JULY AND OCTOBER
These are the warmest months of the year, so we limit shipping options to only those that will ensure that your fine wine is not "cooked," or exposed to heat, while in transit.
- Temperature Controlled
Cold Chain Shipping is a service offered by Federal Express where your wine is moved directly from Vinfolio’s temperature controlled loading dock into a refrigerated truck and is then transported to you. The temperature is guaranteed to stay at 60 degrees or lower until the morning of delivery, scheduled to be done by noon. Delivery times range from 10-14 days, even within California. There is no expedited service available, and there is no tracking of the orders when they are being moved in the refrigerated trucks. As such, we strongly recommend that you use a business address for this service. An adult signature is required for all Vinfolio shipments, and this is especially important for Cold Chain deliveries. Vinfolio is not responsible if no one is home to sign for delivery. - 2-day morning
- Overnight morning
If you cannot wait 2 weeks for cold chain delivery, this is our preferred way to ship to you during these months.
BETWEEN NOVEMBER AND JUNE
We allow additional shipping methods during these months and mitigate the risk of warm transit with our Safe Shipping process.
- Standard Shipping
This may be the right choice for you if you need your wine to arrive at its destination by a specific date (e.g., for an event). We always recommend using the fastest option possible to protect your wine, but for this option, you may decide when you want to ship. - Vinfolio Safe Shipping
We use an automated Weather Check system to ensure your wine is not shipped when temperatures are over 75°F or under 20°F. All ready-to-ship orders default to the Safe Shipping option during this time and will ship only on a Monday or Tuesday so that it arrives no later than Friday of a given week. You may choose to release the Weather Hold at any time by contacting service@vinfolio.com. Please note, this option is at the Customer's own risk, and releases Vinfolio from any responsibility for temperature-related damage. - Weather Hold
If your order is held due to weather, you will be notified by email, and we will attempt to re-ship your order the following week, after again checking the temperature forecast. If adverse temperature conditions are still present, orders will again be placed on weather hold. You may choose to release the Weather Hold at any time, either by emailing us at service@vinfolio.com or calling us at 800-969-1961.
If you are not ready to ship, you can always keep your wine safe at our state-of-the-art Fine Wine Storage facility.
