Calibrate a Zebra Printer

Step 1: Power Reset

Switch the printer off using the switch at the back near the power socket. Give it two seconds, then switch it back on.

Step 2: Reset to Factory Defaults

Hold down the forward feed button on the front panel. The indicator light will start a flash sequence: 1, 1-2, 1-2-3, and so on. When it flashes four times, release it. This resets the printer to factory defaults. Wait for the light to go solid green to indicate that the reset is complete.

Step 3: Auto Set All Other Calibrations

Hold down the button until it flashes twice, then release it. This will run an automatic set of calibrations.

Step 4: Manual Label Width Calibration

Hold down the Feed button until the light flashes five times, then release it. To help you locate the Feed button, it is green and depicts labels passing through a roller. This will make the printer enter label width calibration. It will print a series of widths, getting wider each time, on a label. When the printed width matches the label width (or your preferred setting), tap the button once to lock it in. (If you go past your desired width, just tap the button to end the process then start again.)

The preferred width for barcodes is 1.78IN 45MM.  (Vinfolio barcodes are 2" x 5/8")

The preferred width for labels is 3.78 96MM

* Usually the desired darkness fine with the factory defaults. , if the print out is faint or too dark you may need to set the darkness manually.  To set the darkness level hold down the printer button until it blinks for a 6th time and release it.  The printer will begin printing labels starting with very light and getting darker.  Press the button to stop printing and lock in the darkness setting of the most recently printed label.
